Facile synthesis, structural and optical characterizations of Bi12ZnO20 sillenite crystals: Application for Cefuroxime removal from wastewater

The purpose of this work is to study the crystal structural and optical properties bismuth-based zinc sillenite Bi12ZnO20 (BZO) in order be used for environmental application. BZO nanoparticles were synthesized by co-precipitation technique. obtained catalyst was characterized different techniques. Starting with XRD, structure refined from XRD data using Rietveld method then illustrated first time. A space group I23 identified a cell parameter = 10.214 Å. morphology visualized SEM. proprieties have been evaluated DRS, an bandgap 2.8 eV found. This narrow allows promising photocatalyst photocatalytic applications. For that, we tested it removal Cefuroxime antibiotic, has shown very interesting activity degrading pollutant around 80% just 4 h. rate highest compared literature.
